A Charming Japanese Restaurant in the Heart of Tranquil Berkley

The menu at Nippon Grille goes well beyond sushi, as its name indicates. Stir-fried egg noodles with chicken or pork, or vegetarian style are main course options, along with a list of noodle soups, served in outsized bowls, among them an excellent miso ramen, a mix of cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts and thinly sliced pork in miso broth. This is a place that whispers rather than shouts, and its low-key attitude is part of its charm.
